Filmmaker Shakti Samanta bids Adieu to the film fraternity and the world. The genius who gave us films like Kashmir Ki kali, An Evening in Paris, Aradhana and Kati Patang to mention a few, breathed his last in his home in Mumbai. He was 83 years old. Ailing for some time now, he had suffered a stroke about 2 months back. He was making a recovery, however, he succumbed to a cardiac arrest late last evening. His son Ashim Samanta, a film maker was by his side. He gave the Bollywood industry uncomparable gems and in fact, Bollywood saw its golden years during the time. With leading actors such as Rajesh Khanna, Amitabh Bachchan, Shammi Kapoor all giving superb performances under Shakti Samanta’s able guidance, he leaves behind a whole range of films which would remain evergreen. Films that would tell the story of this genius and continue to remain a favorite with us all.
