Rann vs Ishqiya at the box office on the 29th Jan 2010

This Friday is surely a big day for all Bollywood fans with two mega films releasing on the same day. Ishqiya starring Vidya Balan, Nasseruddin Shah and Arshad Warsi that has already got people talking is releasing opposite Amitabh Bachchan’s Rann which is a film on the media. Vidya Balan’s previous release for which she received much critical acclaim was none other than the Bachchan home production Paa and now we have both Vidya Balan and the Big B fighting for attention at the box office.

The Bachchans have however been really large hearted and have gone all out to wish Vidya all the best. No wonder that he is called the Big B of Bollywood.

Both the films have been extensively involved in publicity and promotion and with the content of the films too being really strong…it is all about let the best man ….or maybe woman win. This is certainly an important film for Vidya as after Paa, the film Ishqiya is one that takes her into serious movies. On the other hand, the Big B too has not left any stones unturned to promote his film and was full of energy and life at the CNN-IBN office where he played editor for the day and had a good chat with Rajdeep Sardesai.

Gale Lag Ja song added to the Bollywood movie De Dana Dan

The Gale Lag Ja song has created quite some news in the past few days. The sensuous song starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif has generated quite some interest however, it was not part of the movie. Director Priyadarshan and his crew have had a great marketing strategy. The song was a bonus song and would be a part of the movie De Dana Dan only after a few days. And yes, movie buffs who have waited for the Gale Lag Ja song to be part of De Dana Dan can now go to the theatres and watch it. The song has been added and all the newspapers and ads have come out with prominent advertisements mentioning the inclusion of the song.

The promotion and marketing strategy has come to be of great significance and each film in Bollywood is trying to outdo the other with better marketing plans. With De Dana Dan doing well at the box office, the inclusion of the Gale Lag Ja song is surely going to work for the film positively. And as for marketing we are watching the step by step grand strategy of Paa. What say you?
