Slumdog Millionaire- a proud moment with 10 Oscar nominations

Slumdog Millionaire has been making waves all over. This is one post I just couldn't miss out. With Slumdog Millionaire all over the place and hitting the theatres it sure is a proud moment. Inspite of the Big B's concern over the film projecting the country in poor light, all that apart...the movie is good and deserves all the attention and rewards of hard work that it is drawing. With the Golden Globe award for A R Rahman bringing a proud moment for all of us, the next is the 10 Oscar nominations that the film has received.

The film has been nominated for the Oscars in the categories for
Best Picture – Slumdog Millionaire
Original Score- A R Rahman
Best Director- Danny Boyle
Original song- “Jai Ho” by A R Rahman and Gulzar
“O Saya” A R Rahman and Maya Arulpragasam
Cinematography- Anthony Dod Mantle
Adapted Screenplay – Simon Beaufoy
Sound Mixing – Ian Tapp, Richard Pryke and Resul Pookutty
Sound Editing – Tom Sayers
Film Editing – Chris Dickens

Wishing the cast and crew all the best. Hoping to see Dev Patel in new roles now.Probably the film marks the beginning of new beginnings for the Bollywood -Hollywood ventures.

Tabu on the Vogue Cover

Tabu is one of my favorite actresses and I have loved all her performances. Her "Cheeni Kum" too has been another one of her wonderful performances where she carried off a serious role in a very light hearted way. Performing opposite none other than the Big B himself and still giving a powerful performance without getting lost in the shadow of his charisma is really creditable. I loved seeing Tabu on the "Vogue" cover of the Jan 2009 issue. Yes, sure did make my day, in fact, a great way to begin the year.

Tabu has not had a single release in the year 2008, however, she is not an actor who would do just about any film that comes her way. She has been seen very little but all her performances have hit the bulls eye. This tall gorgeous actress is looking ravishing in a silk gown studded with Swarovski. She talks about herself and life from Hyderabad to the silver screen. A real treat for all Tabu fans.

Ghajini - did you think Aamir could have such an effect?

"Ghajini", people have been speculating could have some bad effects dues to the violence. However, this forwarded mail that came in my mailbox this morning had me wondering as to what effects a movie could possibly have on the human mind. The mail title said "Don't Allow Women to See Ghajini" ...and guess what this is the cartoon that followed.
