Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif to launch own website

Bollywood seems to have fallen in love with the reach that the internet offers. It would definitely be a great way for the stars to reach out directly to their fans, promoting their films, being accessible and above all clearing any misunderstandings created by the media. Guess having an official website or blog is the best way that stars have found to keep in touch with fans and talk to them directly. With the fan following that they have, the blog or the website would soon have thousands and lakhs of people logging in. Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan are the names that come to your mind instantly when you think of stars blogging, They are very regular at the site. In fact, Aamir was recently away on a vacation with Kiran leaving behind their mobile phones, however, he did keep in touch with his fans through the blog and kept them posted about the happenings.

The news has it that the latest to join the bandwagon of Bollywood stars on the net are going to be none other than Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif. Both are working towards getting their own websites launched very soon. It is reported that Katrina is also having a photoshoot done to add in new photos for the fans visiting her site. With Katrina Kaif being the most googled Bollywood star, getting traffic for her site is surely not a problem at all. Hope to see the beautiful Bollywood queens ruling the internet soon.

Katrina sure is smiling all the way. Remember the tough times she had when she made a beginning here in Bollywood, language was a huge problem and there weren’t many who were ready to experiment with her. From that day to this, she has definitely come a long way and kudos to this girl to being the go-getter she is. Slowly but steadily she has worked hard to turn all the odds in her favor.

With the commercial success of Partner, Namastey London, Welcome and Sinngh is Kinng she has come to be the ruling queen of Bollywood. She has now been voted the “sexiest Asian Woman” in a recent poll conducted by the Eastern Eye, a reputed and popular publication of the United Kingdom. The Google news has added yet another feather in the cap of this gorgeous Bollywood actress. She has been declared the “Most Popular Bollywood Celebrity”. She tops the list for the maximum number of searches made. Katrina sure is going places and we wish her all the best.

Katrina Kaif on "Vogue" Cover page

Bollywood actresses sure have taken on a lot these days. The magazine cover pages, judging television reality shows and being an integral parts of the promotional campaigns of films. Some years back the Bollywood fraternity was just restricted to the silver screen and of course the cover page of film magazines. A filmfare or some other award function and you would probably see the actor or actress on the cover page of “India Today” or some of the other popular magazines. However, today it is them on almost all the glamour magazine cover pages.

I had made a few recent posts with Aishwarya, Priyanka and Deepika Padukone on the cover page of Vogue India, Verve and Jade. I am again back with more cover page news. Katrina Kaif, the commercial queen of Bollywood stars on the latest Vogue Cover page. The December issue has Katrina looking hot and gorgeous as ever. Katrina sure has it going great for her with the series of hits with Akshay. Although “Yuuvraaj”her film with Salman didn’t do too well at the box office, Katrina still continues to be the ruling queen especially when it comes to comedies. Fans sure are looking forward to the next Akshay-Katrina starrer….what say Katrina fans?

"Yuuvraaj" all set for release tomorrow - 21 November, 2008

The crew of "Yuuvraaj"had a grand party for the success of the film's music. The film is all about music. In fact, Katrina Kaif took "Chello" lessons for playing her role in the film to perfection. The couple "Salman and Katrina" are eagerly looking forward to their film together. Will the Katrina Magic work for Salman? Will the film be a hit?

The film stars Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, Katrina Kaif and Mithun Chakraborty. The showman "Subhash Ghai" is the producer cum director of the film. With music by none other than A R Rehman (no wonder the music is a hit..however will the music be able to save the film). Asked about the film Katrina says "Yeah...I would definitely classify it as a drama….a musical drama, so to say. Apne was the first drama film which I had done. I was very nervous about Apne but thankfully the audiences ended up liking it. At the end of the day, our audience still reacts to films that are correct emotionally and that's what Yuvvraaj also is. It's a different kind of a film for me because I am more used to doing comedies. Initially I was a bit nervous but now I am glad that I did the film. The music plays an integral part of the film. When you see the tagline of the film it says, 'Music binds love'. Some people may call it cliched but for me music does play such an important part in my day to day life that I could completely identify with what the film is trying to say". the film posters surely have Katrina all the way. Yuuvraaj definitely is trying to cash in on the Katrina fever.

When I generally see the promos of a film I have this feeling of whether the film is a hit or flop. In fact, I guess most of us can pass a verdict at this stage itself. Actually I have wondered several times that when being a layman I can predict just seeing the promo then why the knowledgeable industry gurus go ahead and make such super flops. While going through a script itself they should be able to decipher between the good and the bad.

Anyway coming back to "Yuuvraaj" which is all set for release tomorrow the 21st of November, let's see what turn their lucks take. With less than 12 hours to go while I write this post, there is very little wait to know the result of all the efforts. All the best to all connected with the film. What do you feel- is "Yuuvraaj" a hit or flop? I sure do not have much hopes and am surely going to give it a miss(unless of course there's really something that inspires).

Katrina and Salman Khan in "Yuuvraaj"- hit or flop?

Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif await the release of their forthcoming release "Yuvvraj". The film is all set to hit the theatres this Friday, the 21st of November , 2008. This is the first time that Katrina and Salman have been paired together onscreen. The film stars Katrina Kaif, Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor and Zayed Khan.
Katrina with her series of hits is considered to be the most successful Bollywood actress (commericially) for now. The sources said "Katrina is considered to be a lucky mascot for her directors and Subhash is confident that Katrina will bring luck for him too".

In response to being asked about Katrina dominating or taking over the limelight in the Yuvvraj posters, the sources said "Katrina has done a fabulous job in Yuvvraj and Subhash has witnessed the dedication with which Katrina has worked in the film. Hence the solo hoarding".

Will the movie be a hit...I really don't have much hopes. If it does, then we can give the entire credit to Katrina the lucky charm.

Bollywood sure has realized the potential of the television media to reach the individual households and the hearts of people. This is the reason why stars from the silver screen are seen descending on the small screen these days. Any new film that is to be released and you find the cast on different programs on television. From giving performances, being judges for reality shows to participating in game shows , its all part of the promotion strategy of films these days. Reach out to a wider audience with the glamour of the Bollywood stars- that is the mantra for marketing. Aamir-Imraan the uncle-nephew pair were seen doing the rounds of television shows recently close to the release of their film.

Now it is time for the beautiful and sexy Katrina Kaif take on the torch. With her new film “Singh is Kinng” all set for release on the 8th of August, Katrina sure is seen in the news nowadays. First, it was her grand birthday bash with the whos who of Bollywood and Mumbai attending, then the showdown and the rumors of break up with Salman Khan and now she is seem on “Baa Bahu Aur Baby”, the popular television serial. She was seen being part of the birthday celebrations of Baby in the serial.

A lot of hype has been created about the film with Katrina and Akshay Kumar in the lead role. Dangerous stunts, rocking music and Akshay Kumar in an all new role of a “Singh” ….this sure would be one that would have the box-office gambling over - hit or flop - once again. “Welcome” – a real Bollywood masala mix-movie review

Yet another bollywood masala - "Welcome" – from the hit popular director Anees Bazmee. Bollywood movie is a hit at the box office like his other films. This Anil Kapoor, Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif starrer is in the theatres now – your latest bollywood release. A bollywood comedy without any particular story line – a body without a head, that is what this multi-starrer “Welcome” is all about. It is Bollywood masala with no plot but clean plain fun. A film for the entire family. May sound a little clichéd like they say for all new bollywood movies but this is a good fun experience.

The plot if I may say so revolves around how a Don or underworld ruler family of Nana Patekar(Uday) and Anil Kapoor(Majnu bhai) are trying to find a great guy for their one and only little sister- Katrina(Sanjana). Paresh Rawal playing the character of Dr. Ghungroo in the film is also on a match making spree too. He is girl hunting so to say for his simple straight forward nephew Akshay Kumar. He wants a simple good girl and that too from a family with any kind of criminal background or negative shades. As luck would have it Paresh Rawal reaches you know where……

The comedy is good but don’t have great expectations. With Majnu Bhai (Anil Kapoor) proving yet again his flair for comedy. Supporting actors Feroze Khan or RDX in the film have not managed to be make a big contribution to the film. A total timepass comedy if you don’t have anything to do on the weekend the theatres with “Welcome” is well ok to be.

For parents who are worried about Bollywood actress Mallika Sherawat in the film, you can go with kids without worry. A song and a scene and Mallika too can be passed of with a “U”. That probably would be a sigh of relief for most parents. Children at the theatre did have fun and with the holidays it sure is going to be a bindass family watch.
